Export to TecnoMETAL® 4D from CYPE 3D, CYPECAD and Integrated 3D structures of CYPECAD
Exported elements
CYPECAD, the Integrated
3D structures of CYPECAD and CYPE
3D can export the analysed and designed structure to TecnoMETAL
4D (v.2004 to v.2010).
External loads acting on the structure can be introduced in CYPECAD, CYPE 3D
or the Integrated 3D structures, so to obtain its optimum design in accordance
with the selected code. Additionally, using the Joints
I, Joints II, Joints
III, Joints
IV and Joints V modules, construction details of bolted and welded connections of rolled
and welded I sections can be generated.
All this can be exported to TecnoMETAL 4D and obtain a 3D model in the program
with:
- The rolled, welded and cold formed sections described below:
Rolled
- I sections
- U sections
- Symmetrical angle
- Angle. Only for TecnoMETAL (esp) and TecnoMETAL (ita) libraries.
- Batten plate
- T section. Only for TecnoMETAL (esp) and TecnoMETAL (ita)
libraries.
- Solid circular bar

Welded
- Rectangular box (without web stiffeners). Only for TecnoMETAL
(esp) and TecnoMETAL (ita) libraries.
- Circular tube
- Symmetrical I sections (without web stiffeners).

Cold formed
- Simple U section
- Rigid U section
- Simple Z section
- Simple Omega section
- Symmetrical angle
- Angle

- The remaining bars are described as generic bars (linear bars).
- If the licence
possessed by the user contains the Export to TecnoMETAL and Joints
I modules
of CYPE, the connections resolved by the Joints
I. Welded. module will
also be available in TecnoMETAL 4D.
- If the licence possessed by the
user contains the Export to TecnoMETAL and Joints II modules of CYPE,
the connections resolved by the Joints
II. Bolted. module will also be
available in TecnoMETAL 4D.
- If the licence possessed by the user
contains the Export to TecnoMETAL and Joints III modules of CYPE, the
connections resolved by the Joints
III. Welded. module will also be available
in TecnoMETAL 4D.
- If the license possessed by the user contains the Export to TecnoMETAL
and Joints IV modules of CYPE, the connections resolved by the Joints
IV. Bolted.
module will also be available in TecnoMETAL 4D.
- If the license possessed by the user contains the Export to TecnoMETAL
and Joints IV modules of CYPE, the connections resolved by the Joints
V. module will also be available in TecnoMETAL 4D.
This way, the project designed by CYPECAD, CYPE 3D or the Integrated 3D structures
of CYPECAD will have all the facilities and possibilities offered by
TecnoMETAL 4D available:
Integrated working in AutoCAD, project drawings, workshop drawings (detailing),
CNC file generation for workshop machinery, marking of all the elements of the job…
Export options
Export to TecnoMETAL 4D is done using the option File > Export > TecnoMETAL 4D
in both CYPECAD and CYPE 3D. In CYPECAD, all the Integrated 3D structures are exported
at once to TecnoMETAL 4D.
There are two options when exporting to TecnoMETAL 4D:
- Only geometry and properties of nodes and bars (Export to TecnoMETAL
module not required)
Exports the geometry and steel sections mentioned
in the Exported elements sections to TecnoMETAL 4D. The structure
does not have to be analysed or designed before it is exported. It
does not include the export of joints and so these do not have to be
designed before exporting either.
To
export to TecnoMETAL 4D using this option, the user is not required
to have the Joints I, Joints
II, Joints III, Joints
IV, Joints V or Export to TecnoMETAL modules.
- Complete
detailing of the structure, including joints (Export to
TecnoMETAL and Joints I, Joints II or Joints III modules required)
Export
to TecnoMETAL 4D includes: the geometry of the job, the steel sections
of the types listed in the Exported elements section, and the detailing
corresponding to the steel elements designed by the Joints I, Joints
II, Joints III, Joints IV and Joints V modules (depending on the Joints module
acquired with the user license). The job and joints must be analysed before exporting
to TecnoMETAL 4D.
In order
to use this option, the user license must contain the Export to TecnoMETAL
module as well as, at least, one of the Joints modules:
Requirements for exporting to TecnoMETAL 4D
The following aspects should be taken into account for CYPECAD or CYPE 3D to export
to TecnoMETAL 4D:
- AutoCAD and TecnoMETAL must be installed (consult your local TecnoMETAL distributor
for working system requirements).
- CYPE user licenses must contain the following:
